I love sugar. So much. This peach gelee recipe is the perfect sugar fix! My friends Julia and Caitlin helped me out with this recipe, and they were very very helpful! I haven’t had that much experience making candy, but this definitely has encouraged me to make more. So let’s get right into it!
You’ll need:
- 1 pound ripe peaches, cut into chunks
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoon liquid pectin
Puree the peaches and add to a sauce pan with 1/2 cups of sugar. Then boil for 15 minutes.
Add the rest of the sugar and the 3 tbs of liquid pectin. Then bring to 200 degrees F and cook for 10 minutes at that temperature. Pour this into a plastic wrap lined 8×8 pan. Now chill it overnight!
Once it has been all chilled, flip the gelee onto a sugared surface. Sprinkle the top side with sugar and then cut each piece into little squares, or whatever shape you’d like. Use the extra sugar the coat all the sides with more sugar if it needs it!
When I first read the title I thought it said “Peach glee candy” and I got really excited and thought you had made glee themed candy. This looks good too though! 🙂
I LOVE anything with peach in it, so i’ll definitely try these!
